Sorry for delay I've been in a UCSF neurology study every morning very early this week while tutoring and doing business and legal writing along with normal functions every afternoon and evening I'm exhausted went to bed at 7:30 last night no Blazers can't do that Beal trade Eric Wizards aren't that dumb. I anticipate McCullum being used in a Love trade possibly along with Harkless and either Turner or Leonard who are in last year of bloated contracts next season
Eric was the pitcher rookie for the Astros the great JR Richard? who had a stroke from a crack overdose? I was much more interested in another rookie pitcher in 1971 Vida Blue who was MVP and Cy Young winner with 24 victories for the first of the great A's teams that won 3 straight chips '71 they lost to the Orioles in the playoffs. It was a great year with both the Giants and A's winning their divisons
What about the former Yankee pitcher who won Comeback Player of the Year for the Dodgers that season? (I don't know why I engage in this stuff: only Mark will know the answers and he'll know them easily.)
And whoa, the Swatter is crushing right now, even having put his DMitch (48) on the pine. He may put a beating on the E Team, which has not lost in over a month.
We could be looking at a dramatic and final Match 3 between the two ancient warriors.
Wingos wish both E and Swat good luck. Li'l Hawthorne is also a huge Dick Allen fan - but from the White Sox angle. And in terms of players with no fucks given -- want to honor Alex Johnson and Albert Belle (for his famous HBP sequence). Baseball is back, there is a god (or many)...
Swat is sitting on a 29-point lead with BojBog going against Aldridge tomorrow. LaMarcus will probably be better, but by that much? The E Team strongly considered going Lamb (38) for Markkanen (27) or Nurkic (25), but didn't have the sac to pull on a guy who comes off the bench. That would have made it interesting. Then again, Swat got hurt by the Lavine (34) for DMitch (48) play.
KAT had a knee thing after blowing up (61) in regulation tonight, and didn't play in the OT after that. Is that gonna be a factor in the decisive final match?
Wingo: Great stuff about Alex Johnson in the Dick Allen bio "Crash." Allen says he was a great guy, babysat his kids and stuff. But he would call any non-players who came into the clubhouse "dickhead," including team management and ownership. Didn't Johnson get shot to death in some sort of traffic mishap? Also, if you haven't read that book, it contains my favorite baseball story of all time, about Allen getting into a drinking contest with Jim Ray Hart. Classic, classic stuff.

ReplyDeleteIt was the fireballer J.R. Richard.

I had his rookie card he also was famous giving up Aaron's record home rune passing Ruth Al Downing
ReplyDeleteDang. No one can touch the mighty Invader.

One more for the title, Swat-a-Burger.

Aldridge brings the E Team roaring back against Swat, but not quite far enough. Sean evens the series with a 239-233 win.
ReplyDeleteCan we get a lineup header for Match 3, please. I'm also curious to know what happened in that last Ticket-Nitecaps match.
But not as curious as I am to see who's got one more win in the tank, because that will decide the 2018-2019 championship.
Woo hoo!
Swat sez... Fill'er up!
ReplyDeleteDamian 1: - J. Murray 1/2:
Mitchell 1/2: - Lavine 1/2:
BojBog 2/3: - Tatum 3/4:
Vucevic 4/5: - Isaac 3/4:
