  2. Repeat of Match 5: Swat/Orca, Invaders/JRB, E Team/P4

That oughta break things up a bit. Go JRB! (No offense, Mark.)

    E Team goes...

    LBJ 4 ('Zingis)
    Jokic 5 (Adabayo)
    PGeorge 3 (Wiggins)
    Lavine 2 (Lamb)
    Ingram 6 (Valenciunas)
    Conley 1 (Kemba)

  3. And hey, Mark. Can you create a blog entry that consists solely of the link to the ESPN player rater site we're using? That way guys can go there quickly for info. Many thanks.

Also, look for a couple of upcoming proposals regarding...

    1) bumping our get-in to $100.00 (I think I can talk the cost-conscious Orca into it. And yes, the plan is still to sort out league finances by the Jan. 1 deadline.) Fifty bucks just isn't enough fun.

And 2) staying with the four-team playoff format this year despite the smaller league. Think about it, if finishing 5th didn't get you into the Dance in an eight, or even ten-team league, why on earth would it be good enough with only six? I vote to preserve the NIT.

Any and all thoughts on this welcome. Happy Sunday, people.

  5. I thought we were all $150 except Orca in for $50, it seems like that was the conversation we had draft night. Orca would have a proration of winnings to make up for $100 he didn't want to be play.

Acknowledging sorting out of financials by 1/2020.

So what number of teams would the playoffs and finals be based on in Champions series and NIT?

  6. Just call me BALCo, can't believe I am only team carrying two top-30 players suspended for "enhancements."

  7. Sean: We agreed in principle to a reduction in the entry fee, but left it somewhere between $50 and $100. More precisely, $50 with the possibility of bumping it to $100. It was sort of a combination of the unresolved money issues and the six-man league and Orca's reluctance to go in to big on something he hadn't done before.
I think I now have Peter more or less talked into the $100, but I'm okay with leaving it there. I'll be happy just to get everybody on the square as best we can and actually have guys pay in and winners paid. Been a long time since we've seen that. Next year we can confidently go back to $150, or more if we want, and everyone will pay up at the outset.

I know, you're feeling good about the money thing right now 'cause your squad is going good. Hey, we get you.

And the playoff thing is real simple: Big Dance, four teams, as always. You want the real money, you get to the Final Four, same as always. NIT, you play a best of three for the usual $25, again, as always. Just that you go straight to the title round. Like I said before, if 5th place didn't get you to the Dance with eight teams, don't know why it would get you there with only six. Makes for good drama at the bottom of the standings. You want something special for the 5th-place finisher, you can give him the double jeopardy advantage. Doesn't much matter to me.

And hey, I'm sorry about your juicers Ayton and Collins, but not sympathetic. I'm playing without my 2nd-round pick. That's does not help my cause.

    1. I will have Ayton and Collims back in about 5-7 matches, unless they get appeal, but not looking likely.

  8. Hey Mark. Did P4 submit a lineup for Match 10? I didn't see it anywhere. E

  9. Couldn't remember how exactly we resolved reduction in buy in, but I am fine with $100 all around.

  10. Championship and NIT as proposed sounds fine too.
