Match 35 Scores

  1. Wow. I'm "above the fold."

Fitting, because the big news story is that today is the 59th birthday of the legendary Tom Koeppel. Kinda weird and wonderful to start our last match of the regular season.

Weirder for me, because my daughter, who Tom knew since birth, was at the Barklay Center tonight wearing her Portland hoodie and watching the Blazers drub the her now hometown Nets (she lives in Bushwick). Something kind of poignant about that, too.

The family and I shared some funny Tom stories at dinner tonight. It would be fun for all of us to get together sometime soon and do the same, maybe dedicate the new trophy.

Meantime, perhaps I'll slip down to the taco joint on the corner later and raise a glass to the storied Ticket. Maybe you guys will too. L'Chaim, Tom!

  2. Despite leaving a couple 40's on the bench and getting a sub-20 from the ailing Aldridge, the E Team tunes up against Wingo with a 271-209 win.

But far more significantly, Ticket roars from behind with the help of two OTs in OKC, and defeats Alt-Delete 234-230 to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NIT tournament! Hottest team in the lower division! Overwhelming fan favorite!

THIS is the league that puts the fantasy in fantasy basketball!

  3. I confirm Tom's 234-230 win ...I have ETeam 271-210 over Wingos... dnps for Doncic and Embiid who's out again next game prevent Invader-Nitecaps final using Kanter as backup for Embiid it's 187-143 with Doncic or his backup to be counted...P4 206 Swat 195 waiting to count either KAT 2nd chance of his sub

  4. correction I didn't add P4 correctly he has 196 so Swat will win this match with 2 points from KAT or his sub

  5. KAT is GTD with concussion after auto accident for this evening.

Either way, my Ayton dropped 26 as backup, so I have at least 221 depending on KAT outcome.

  6. Mark, for what it's worth, I've got Wingo with Freak 52, Kemba 43, Fox 32, JCollins 26, JoshJack 23, Oubre 33 - 209

Also, I am logging victories for your Invaders and Swat based on the Ayton save and the Mirotic failure, not in that order.

Liking my new-look Blazers with Hood and Kanter and MIP Layton. Hey Ben Simmons is a real talented player, but he's an arrogant douchebag. Somebody's gonna beat his ass one of these days.

    1. Kanter is that second big that Blazers have needed for awhile.

Trade Leonard, although don't know they would get anything in return.

  8. Yes Invaders win with weak performance 187-154 and Sean is correct with his Ayton at 221 that 271 by Eric is easy MHS winner

  9. Sean: Ironically, Meyers has finally come into his own a bit this season. The 3-point set shot looks fairly dialed in, he scores it more confidently close to the basket, he doesn't go for every ball fake on defense. And just more fluid and athletic. What we waited seven years for.
I think he can stick around in the NBA, maybe just not here.
