E Team's magic number to avoid the Invaders in the 1st round is one after a win over Swat in Match 33. He's got a one-game lead and the points tiebreaker. The good news for Sean is that E must face the Invaders and Wingo in his last two while Swat gets Alt-D and then the seemingly inert P4, who is rightfully dead last in the standings. Boy, could the rookie Sam play spoiler here.
Then there's the Nitecaps, about the third-best team in the league over the 2nd half of the season. Their third-straight win in Match 33 moves them to within a game and half of Swat for the fourth Big Dance spot. No wiggle room there. One Swat win or one 'Cap loss will end the X-Man's inspired run, and he'll have to do it the hard way: Wingo in Match 34, Invaders in Match 35.
